Course Description: Nuclear energy - power versus waste. Nuclear weapons in our midst - deterrent to war or threat to humanity. For non-science majors, explores the advantages and threats of nuclear weapons, nuclear waste and nuclear-generated electricity. Discuss concerns about thousands of tons of nuclear waste in Eastern Washington and the nuclear-armed and nuclear powered submarines based near Seattle.
