Course Description: (Formerly POL 102) Survey of the origin and development of the U.S. government. Covers Colonial history, the Confederacy and the creation of a federal system, the functions of Congress, the presidency, and courts. Includes interest groups, civil liberties, political parties and elections. The video program, Voices in Democracy, may also be viewed in the SSCC Library -or the set may be rented for $32. Additionally, this telecourse is aired on SSCTV Ch. 38/32.
