Equipment Requirements | Fees | The 5 types of ONLINE Classes | How do I Enroll for classes?

If you are a returning student, or have taken a course at any of the Seattle Community Colleges you will have one student identification number (SID) assigned to you.

• A Student Identification Number(SID) is 9 digits and is assigned to you upon enrollment
   
• Previously enrolled (returning) students may register online here: SSCC Student Online Services [with your SID# and PIN]
   
• New Students may apply for a Student Identification Number (SID) here: Web Admissions
   
• To plan your eLearning classes, go to the eLearning Course Listing web page , choose your classes, print out your course information and then go to the SSCC Student Online Services page to register online.
   
• Once you're registered, it's your responsibility to get and Stay In Touch

1. SSCC online course - taught by SSCC faculty using a course management application as their online classroom platform. Course item number ends with section number ".70 and .71"
    
2. SSCC online course - taught by SSCC faculty using their own website (E-mail your instructor for their website address, please). Course item number ends with section number ".70 and .71"
    
3. SSCC online WAOL course - offered through the Washington Online Consortium (WAOL) https://www.waol.org
   
   WAOL (Washington Online) courses are offered by South Seattle Community College and WAOL. Course item numbers end with section numbers ".72 or .78"
    
   
   • WAOL courses use an online course management web application
      
   • WAOL courses follow a different quarter schedule from SSCC online courses
      
   • WAOL has minimum hardware/skill requirements to take a WAOL course: https://www.waol.org/general_info/technicalRequirements.aspx
      
   • WAOL courses require regular participation in a virtual classroom.  If you are unfamiliar with this concept, please take the time to view a brief online tutorial: http://www.waol.org/current_students/index.aspx
      
4. SSCC Math courses - Most of the math courses* are taught by SSCC faculty using Academic Systems, which the students have access to in the Open Computer Lab. For more information regarding online Math courses, please visit http://mathonline.southseattle.edu
   
   * MATH 107 and MATH109 are offered through WAOL during the year.
      Course item number ends with section number ".70"
     
5. SSCC telecourse - taught by SSCC faculty where courses meet in-person for 4-6 courses and videos/dvd are used for instruction. Course item number ends with section number ".77"

This website offers a Class Planning Tool to help compile all the information you will need to enroll (it does not officially enroll you)

1. Go to the PLANNER TOOL
    
2. Choose your class(es) (you can add and delete them as desired because this is a planner only -- it does not offiically register you)
    
3. PRINT OUT the results of what you plan to take online with SSCC and then go through the registration process:
    
• New Students: Take your 'printed planning page' to the REGISTRATION office to officially enroll

• Returning Students : Take your 'printed planning page' to the REGISTRATION office to officially enroll or if you have your SID # and password -- you can go online to register for classes!
